Wow. Very, very cool stuff Red Dirt Girl. I'm one of those unusual people who believe that upon first meeting anyone, a quick glance at their shoes will reveal much about them. All of my buddies have laughed at me over the years, but I find that shoes provide insight.

I found you on Soubriquet's blog, Grit in the Gears. You were nice enough to provide a comment on our blog, The View From Outside My Tiny Window.

Red Dirt Girl:

Thanks for paying us a visit. We have neither forgotten you, nor are we ignoring you. You raised so many points in your comment about raising kids, to which we would like to respond, that we need to think through how to do so in some meaningful way. We'll be sure to get back to you.

By the way, during my travels over the years, I spend time in Rome, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro, where the shoes are just fascinating. However, my best shoe place? The Victoria and Albert Museum in London. They have a collection of shoes throughout time which is just umph, umph.

Once again, very cool shots.

Dear Inspector,

Welcome to the Sisterhood of Pointy Heels !! Indeed, it is rare to find a member of the Brotherhood who understands and appreciates the beauty of a great shoe. Too bad we didn't cross paths years ago when I had a bangin' blog revolving around gorgeous shoes and literature: a strange combination but a very fun and exciting blog. Though that original blog no longer exists, it was the genesis for this particular blog, the Sisterhood of Pointy Heels. We hope you return from time to time even though our postings are somewhat sporadic.

RE: My overly long comment on your blog, take your time. I did not intend initially to unwind so many questions - it sort of happened as I was thinking and writing at the same time i.e. one thought led to a question which led to another thought and so on ... thank you for your interest.
